Myntra was acquired for $3.1 billion, which provides an estimation of nearly 15 million active users per month on Flipkart. Flipkart was established in 2007 by Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal.   1. Snapdeal:

‘Dil Ki Deal-Snapdeal’. IITian, Rohit Bansal, and Kunal Behl started this New Delhi based e-commerce company on 4th February 2010. It offered 10 million products, having 1 Lac SDF sellers, with a shipping facility in 5000 cities. This figure has extended to 2.75 Lac sellers covering 6000 cities with a range of 30 million online products.

  • In Jan 2011, Nexus Venture Partners and Indo-US Venture Partners provided funds of $12 million.
  • In July 2011, $45 million from Bessemer, Nexus and Indo-US Venture Partners.
  • $50 million from eBay and others (previous partners).
  • In Feb 2014- $133 million, May 2014- $105 million, Oct 2014- $647 million from Softbank, making it the largest investor in Snapdeal, Aug 2015- $500 million.
  • $200 million is the latest one which was received from Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.

ShopClues was launched in California in 2011, by Radhika Aggarwal, Sandeep Aggarwal, and Sanjay Sethi. This company having headquarters in Gurgaon is able to provide more than 2 Lac products to 42 million visitors, every year, having the facility of delivery in 9500 cities.
Its registered office is in Vadodara, Gujarat.
Singapore’s Sovereign Wealth Fund GIC raised the latest fund of $1.1 billion.

  1. Yepme:

An online shopping site, founded in April 2011, in Gurgaon, Haryana. The sales items include apparels and fashion accessories for men and women. In August 2011, Yepme was officially stamped as a Fashion Brand. Its success includes the hard work of Vivek Gaur, Sandeep Sharma, and Anand Jadhav. Vivek Gaur is the CEO of the company, Sandeep Sharma is the founder and CTO and Anand Jadhav holds the position of a president.
In 2015, it raised funding of $75 million. It targets customers from cities, where big brands are not available to a large extent. According to a survey, in August 2011, 69 % orders were from small towns out of which 35 % orders were from places where the company do not have a courier service.
It’s not only trying to enhance business in small towns but is also providing facility to customers to shop in their regional languages (apart from English) – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, company took this big step to make the people feel connected.

A very famous and popular website in girls. Falguni Nayar established it in 2012. The headquarters of Nykaa are located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It deals with many famous fashion brands like Lakme, Maybelline, and much more. It raised a funding of $9.5 million in 2015 and covers more than 900 cities in the country for the shipment of their products.
